Van Winkle Construction today signed a contract with Wallace State Community College to renovate the exterior of the James C. Bailey Center. The $7.67 million project will take 14 months to complete and involves removing and replacing masonry, windows and roofing on the 13-story building. The project will require more than 300,000 bricks. Work is scheduled to begin in November.
The architect of record for the project is Goodwyn Mills Cawood of Birmingham, AL and the Program Manager is Hoar Construction, also of Birmingham, AL.
The James C. Bailey Center houses the College President’s Office, administrative offices and classrooms and was originally constructed in 1994.
