DESCRIPTION
Van Winkle completed three projects for St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church including a new sanctuary, new education wing, and a conversion of the previous sanctuary into a fellowship hall.
FEATURES
New Sanctuary
The 1,300-seat neo-gothic sanctuary features a rear balcony, 100-seat adoration chapel, and choir practice area. This tilt-up concrete structure required 600 cubic yards of concrete for its panels and reaches 40 feet in height at its tallest point.
The new structure attaches to the converted fellowship hall.
Education Wing
The education wing addition includes administrative spaces as well as preschool, kindergarten, and grade school classrooms.
Fellowship Hall Conversion and Renovations
Van Winkle converted the church’s original sanctuary into a fellowship hall. The renovated fellowship hall connects to the new sanctuary.
Additionally, Van Winkle renovated the church’s existing support areas and building exterior to correct water intrusion issues neglected by a previous contractor. The new exterior features 208,345 new bricks in total.
