The City of Refuge’s annual 5K and 10K Refuge Run was a huge success! Over 850 runners participated and raised over $170,000! Van Winkle’s team did our part- we may not have won the best time in the race, but we sure can go the distance!
City of Refuge works tirelessly to transform and empower Atlanta’s struggling neighborhoods and raise families out of generational poverty. The organization’s headquarters in historic western Atlanta provides mentoring, food service, tutoring, housing, vocational training, health and wellness services, and more to the community. The organization’s ultimate goal is permanent social change for the area, and you can help be a part of Where Good Works! This past February, Van Winkle attended at the Demand an End Gala in Midtown for Street Grace. Street Grace, an organization dedicated to ending child sexual abuse, trafficking, and exploitation, works tirelessly to stop or impede the underground sex trafficking trade through the community outreach, faith outreach, online programs, political activism, and recovery programs for the abused. Their Gala gave us a sobering glimpse of the reality of the industry’s prevalence, but also enlightened us about the many ways we could help end this abuse.
