Van Winkle joined Atlanta’s runners in City of Refuge’s Refuge Run 5K – fifth consecutive year of participation! The virtual run, which lasted from March 13 – 20, supports the organization’s mission of improving lives and neighborhoods in underprivileged Atlanta communities.
On March 19 of the same week, our Van Winkle team, led by Lily Boff, participated in Covenant House Georgia’s virtual Sleep Out event to raise money and awareness for Georgia’s homeless youth aged 18-24. While the event may be over, you can still show your support! The Sleep Out fundraising portal is open until April 19 should you wish to join us in supporting this great organization.
About the Charities
City of Refuge is an Atlanta-based non-profit organization that assists in-need Atlanta families and struggling neighborhoods. In their words, “[City of Refuge] exists to bring light, hope, and transformation through supportive housing, health and wellness, anti-trafficking efforts, vocational training and job support, and youth development.” All proceeds from the Refuge Run support the City of Refuge’s mission.
Covenant House Georgia is a homeless shelter and resource center for Georgia youth ages 18 – 24. In addition to shelter, food, and clothing, Covenant House Georgia provides support and resources to help youth build successful lives off the streets. All funds raised in the Sleep Out support Covenant House Georgia.
